Michael began his career in Ipswich and during that time worked for two of the largest accounting firms in Ipswich. Wanting to gain a new perspective – Michael changed jobs to become the Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary for a large business with a $60m turnover. The experience forever changed his outlook on the accounting profession and the services provided by public practice accountants. This outlook is central to Bachmayer Accounting’s desire to shift the focus from historic information and compliance to forward planning and real time decision making. It can be seen in Bachmayer Accounting’s commitment to develop systems and reporting which provide up to date financial information which is useful to decision-making.

Michael founded Bachmayer Accounting in 2014 – initially operating from his and Elva’s home in Bundamba and was the Sole Principal until Maz joined in 2018. Michael is a Chartered Accountant and Tax Agent and knows what it takes to build a business from scratch.

Outside of work; Michael enjoys travelling, good food & beer (preferably very spicy with a Hefeweizen beer), PC gaming, and partakes in many widely varying interests and hobbies.

With more than a decade of experience in the industry Maz has always been committed to achieve the best outcome for his clients. He believes in becoming a trusted business partner to his clients and practices a “no- nonsense” approach while advising. Over the years he has developed a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from start-ups to matured businesses. As each of these clients has its unique needs Maz’s days are full of opportunities and prospects. 
Maz has been a Chartered Accountant and a member of CAANZ since 2013. He also leads the Self-Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF) team at Bachmayer Accounting.  
Despite being an avid sports fan Maz is unashamedly biased towards cricket. In his spare time he loves playing the game and cooking for his wife and two children.

Elva has been working for Bachmayer Accounting since it was first formed in 2014. Her expertise and work devotion assisted the business to grow to where it is now.  Elva is involved in management and operations of Bachmayer Accounting and is the head of the reception and administration department. Prior to joining Bachmayer Accounting she worked as a bookkeeper, payroll officer and personal tax consultant. 
Elva also owns and manages an online retail business with Michael. As a mother of 2 young boys, she likes spending time with her kids and Michael on the weekend.

Kathy has been an integral part of Bachmayer Accounting’s Admin team since 2019. She is most likely the friendly voice or face you hear/see when you contact us. Kathy is also heavily involved in her family business which gives her edge to understand the rewards and struggles of running a small business.

Diana has been in the industry since 2018, completed her Bachelor of Accounting, and is well on her way to completing her CPA. 
A strong advocate for financial literacy and bringing accounting and business into the online platform, Diana has quite the skillset in regards to understanding and adapting new technology solutions to old problems. In 2021 she was a finalist in The Accountants Daily 30 Under 30 Awards for Boutique Accountant category.
Outside of work Diana enjoys spending time with her young family, gardening, and more often than not is on a mission to find the end of Netflix.
